Zeronet Mobile Pay Monthly Plans
- Zeronet offers a unique approach to mobile data with its "Truly Unlimited Data" plans. Unlike traditional mobile providers that throttle speeds after reaching data caps, Zeronet offers consistent speeds throughout the month. You choose your speed tier, and it remains constant, whether it's day 1 or day 30.
Zeronet's plans are straightforward:
- Mobile Starter at $30/month (3 Mbps speeds)
- Mobile Essentials at $50/month (10 Mbps speeds)
- Mobile Max at $80/month (maximum available speeds).
- New customers who transfer their existing number get three months at half price. All plans include unlimited SMS/MMS and calls to New Zealand and Australia, WiFi calling, and eSIM compatibility.
Important: Zeronet customers must stay on their plan for at least four months. Early cancellation before the 4th month will incur an early termination fee of $120.
Our View: What sets Zeronet apart is their approach to data management. While many other providers offer "endless data" that slows dramatically after hitting monthly limits (sometimes to barely usable 1Mbps), Zeronet maintains your chosen speed consistently.
For context, 3Mbps handles everyday browsing and social media smoothly, 10Mbps streams HD video without buffering, while max speeds suit heavy users who need 4K streaming and rapid downloads.
Know This: Bundle benefits make Zeronet particularly attractive for households - add mobile to any Zeronet broadband plan and save $5/month on broadband (up to $25/month with 5 SIMs). However, hotspot data is capped at 10GB monthly across all plans, which may frustrate users accustomed to unlimited tethering.

Why Zeronet is Different from Every Other Provider:
The Zeronet Advantage:
|
Zeronet Mobile's Network Coverage
Zeronet uses the 2degrees network, which promotes that its mobile network "covers over 98.5% of the population. Where 2degrees doesn't have its own network, it has an agreement with oneNZ to use its service. Independent data, which we present below, confirms the wide coverage 2degrees offers. If you're in Auckland or any other main city or town, chances are you'll receive a constant 5G or 4G signal.
But, before going any further, the best idea is to see if where you live, where you work and other places you spend regular time in are covered by 5G or 4G. Visit their network coverage map and insert your address, and cross-check using this tool to make sure you're covered.

Customer Service
Zeronet operates primarily as a digital-first provider, offering self-service options through its website and app. Customer support is available via email and online contact forms; however, response times may vary. The company emphasises their automated systems and eSIM technology to minimise the need for customer service interactions.
Unlike traditional providers with physical stores, Zeronet handles everything online, from sign-ups to troubleshooting. This streamlined approach keeps costs down but means customers need to be comfortable managing their accounts digitally. The sign-up process is simple given the eSIM requirement (which can be completed in minutes).
For environmentally conscious customers, Zeronet plants five trees for every new connection, outlined on their website, adding a sustainability element that traditional providers don't offer.

Zeronet Roaming options
Zeronet Mobile doesn't currently offer daily roaming services. However, they provide recommendations for international data eSIMs and WiFi calling options that customers can use as alternatives when traveling overseas.

Our Conclusion
Zeronet brings a refreshing simplicity to New Zealand's mobile market with their transparent unlimited data model. The key advantage is predictability - you know exactly what speed you'll get every day of the month, without the frustration of sudden throttling that plagues other "unlimited" plans.
Strengths:
Considerations:
Our View:
The only, or at least the most significant limitation, is the roaming options. However, as Zeronet works as an eSim, our guide to eSim and roaming show the many options available that are, in almost all cases, cheaper than roaming plans from the likes of Spark, One NZ and 2degrees.
Strengths:
- True unlimited data at consistent speeds - no throttling or fair use policies
- Competitive pricing with substantial new customer discounts
- Bundle savings with broadband make it ideal for Zeronet internet customers
- eSIM ready for instant activation
- Environmental commitment to the tree planting program
- No lock-in contracts after the initial 4-month minimum term
Considerations:
- 10GB monthly hotspot limit may disappoint heavy tethering users
- $120 early termination fee if cancelled within 4 months
- Digital-only support won't suit customers who prefer face-to-face service
- Limited international roaming options compared to established providers
- Speed tiers may require an adjustment period to find the right fit
Our View:
- Zeronet suits customers who value simplicity and consistency over maximum speeds. The Mobile Starter plan, offering 3Mbps, delivers reliable performance for everyday use at an attractive price point, while power users can opt for unrestricted speeds with Mobile Max.
- We believe that the Mobile Essentials plan, offering speeds of 10Mbps, handles virtually everything except 4K streaming, while saving $30/month compared to the top tier.
- For Zeronet broadband customers, adding mobile offers an additional discount.
- Overall, Zeronet delivers on its promise of truly unlimited data without the gotchas that typically accompany "unlimited" mobile plans.
