Are newborn clothes worth buying?
Many babies never wear newborn size clothing and jump right to the 0 – 3 month size. Unless you deliver your baby early or you know he/she is super tiny, it’s most economical to skip the newborn size if you want to get more than a week or two out of the clothing.
What baby clothes do you need?
It seems overwhelming when you’re looking at baby clothes, but here are the basics to have:
- A handful of rompers
- 4-5 pairs of pants
- 3 swaddlers
- 5 sleeper gowns
- 10 onesies and/or tops
- Five pairs of socks
- A couple of hats
- A few sweaters
- A bunting sack
​Is 0-3 months the same as 3 month size?
It depends. It is best to err on the side of caution when buying baby clothes. A 0-3 month size will fit your baby better when he/she is newborn versus when he/she is 3 months old.
​When should you start buying baby clothes?
If you don’t mind buying gender neutral clothes, start as soon as you know the pregnancy is valid. This way you can spread out the expense and not get hit with a huge bill right before you deliver the baby.
Do babies have to wear organic clothes?
This is up to personal preference. Many parents choose natural or organic clothing. Be aware that the cost is usually higher for natural clothing.
