What is Triaba?
Triaba is an online and mobile survey site that pays you money to answer market research surveys. Triaba pays cash for every survey you answer, typically via PayPal. You won't earn a full-time income or even a part-time income. Consider it 'side cash' or 'fun money.' Many people like survey sites like Triaba because it kills time when they're watching TV or waiting for an appointment etc., and gives them a chance to earn a little money.

- You must complete a screener before qualifying for surveys after being invited
- Most people receive between 1 and 7 surveys a month
Triaba Payments
Unlike some other survey sites, Triaba pays users in cash. All payouts are sent to PayPal and usually take four business days after you request them. For new members, the first payout is made after ten business days, but after that it takes four business days.
Know This: PayPal charges a 2% fee to transfer the funds, so you lose 2% of your earnings right off the bat. For example, if you earned 100 NZD, you will receive 98 NZD after the PayPal fees.
You can also receive a GCodes virtual gift code if you'd prefer to use your earnings on merchandise, gift cards, travel, or other personal items. You need to accumulate 15 NZD before you can redeem GCodes. Triaba sends the Gcodes directly to your email address within four business days.

Triaba - Pros & Cons
Pros:
Cons:
Our view:
- You can earn money just for providing your opinion
- You are in control of when you answer surveys – you don't have to take every opportunity that comes in your email
- It's easy to determine how much you've earned because you're rewarded in NZD in your account immediately; there aren't any complicated formulas to figure out
- Triaba does market research in 86 countries; they are a legitimate company that pays out
Cons:
- You must disclose your private and personally identifying information to get access to surveys; the more information you provide, the more opportunities you'll get
- There's no guarantee you'll receive the desired number of surveys as it depends on your demographics and the needs of the company's asking for surveys
- If you remain inactive for over two years, Triaba may deactivate your account
Our view:
- Triaba can be 'fun money', but you aren't going to get rich doing it, but many New Zealanders enjoy answering market research surveys and knowing they help develop future products and services
- Triaba is a great way to 'kill time' and make a little money if you have a lot of spare time
- You may go for quite some time with no survey opportunities as Triaba doesn't control what their partner companies want or need. Still, Triaba's purpose is to provide relevant and interesting surveys to its members.

8 Must-Know Facts about Triaba
You must complete a Triaba profile if you want survey opportunitiesTriaba makes it sound easy to just fill out their 'quick' form and sign up. But to get surveys that fit your profile, you must fill out the profile, which consists of 147 questions. The profile could take a while to complete, and you don't get paid for it, but completing it will most likely lead to more survey opportunities.
Expect questions about your personal life, likes and dislikes, such as:
The more details you provide about your life, the more surveys they can send you because you'll be able to match specific demographics better. |
It can be hard to get survey invitesYou have no control over whether or not you get survey invites if you complete the survey. Every company has different demographics they must meet. For example, if they want to talk only to stay-at-home mothers of 2-year-olds and you don't have children, or you work outside the house, you won't qualify.
This is why being as detailed as possible in your profile is essential because the surveys can get pretty specific. |
You can get paid in cash, and it's probably the easiest methodYou only need to accumulate 7.50 NZD to get your payment. It's best if you have a PayPal account already, but Paypal will ask you to create one when you have redeemed your earnings. If you have an existing PayPal account, make sure it's under the same email address you used on Triaba.

The more diverse your answers to your profile, the more surveys you'll receiveWhile you must be honest in your profile, the more diversified your life is, the more surveys you'll receive. For example, a mother with a 2-year-old, 10-year-old, and 15-year old may have more opportunities because of the different age ranges in her house.
Another example is a person with many eclectic tastes and habits who may receive more surveys than someone more reserved who sticks to home and doesn't get out much. There's no rhyme or reason for who gets more surveys, but the more dynamic your life is, the more you may receive. |
It can take a few weeks to get a surveyEven though Triaba says you are eligible for a survey immediately upon signing up, most people don't receive surveys right away. It can take 2 – 3 weeks (sometimes longer) to get a survey invitation. Is this based upon experience? Usually members should get their first survey invitation within days.
|
You may not qualify even after receiving an invitationThe companies requesting the market research have what they call 'screeners.' These are additional questionnaires you complete before taking the survey. Once you answer the screener, which should only take a minute or two, they'll tell you if you qualify for the survey.
Don't be discouraged if you don't qualify; there will be others. The key is to respond to the survey invitations right away before the survey this capacity as most have a limited quota. |
You can use the OpinionAPP (mobile App) for access to more surveysIn the App, you don't have to wait for invitations. You can take any available surveys, but like the surveys with invitations, you must pass the screener to qualify, and not everyone does.
If you like spending time on your phone, it can be fun to check the App every so often to see if there are new surveys available for you. |
You won't pay the bills with your Triaba earningsWhile it's difficult to determine how much you'd earn, on average, surveys pay 1 NZD to 2 NZD. If you get five surveys a month, that's 5 NZD to 10 NZD a month. Again, it's not much, but if you're looking for a little extra cash or a way to fill time and make money, this could be a good way.
